Summer 2009 Graduate-Level Fellowship (Fair Trade) (New York)
The Andean Collection (a fair trade/social enterprise) seeks two graduate-level fellows for Summer Protected content work alongside our Founder and Marketing Director: one based in New York City and another based in Ecuador (to analyze our supply chain in Ecuador). Both fellowships are unpaid; however, there is a possibility of future employment for successful candidates.
NEW YORK POSITION
The main role of the fellow is to co-lead The Andean Collection in expanding domestic market reach, incorporating the organization, developing social guidelines and a fair trade practice guide, working with Ecuador team/artisans to create the most positive impact possible in the artisans’ lives.
The ideal candidate should have a passion to lead a social enterprise, with experience in both business and development. The fellow will have great control over the direction of the company, and will be considered a strategic advisor to the organization. A variety of skills will be utilized, including marketing, PR, finance, and community development.
Duties include: Protected content our supply chain, with a focus on its environmental impacts in the communities and the environment at large. Protected content our supply chain by holding meetings with producers and suppliers. Protected content the capacity of the local artisans, including helping them determine how they will scale up to meet larger production demands. This position requires a fellow that is a self-starter, as there will be little to no supervision once actually in Ecuador.
This position in Ecuador requires fluency in Spanish.
