The offline get-together in Rio really convinced me of InterNations. It is so much more than just an online plattform.

InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Rio de Janeiro

Hello to all Americans in Rio de Janeiro! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Rio de Janeiro? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Rio de Janeiro which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: Rio has more to offer than just Carnival. The Brazilian capital is a sprawling city known for its blend of urban cityscapes with sandy beaches and mountains covered in lush forests, friendly and relaxed lifestyle, local music scene with Samba at its heart, and much more! With the south-side buses (frescão) as well as metered taxi services, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in areas outside of the central zone, from nearby Santa Teresa to famous Copacabana, which are — depending on your exact location — sometimes a bit of a commute away from Rio de Janeiro’s center.

Although Rio de Janeiro has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Rio de Janeiro, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
