The Art Monastery is seeking a booking agent to sell our original theater production to the summer festival market in Italy for summer Protected content beyond.
This is an off-site, part-time position, ideally someone living in Rome with commission-based pay. Fluency in both Italian and English is required.
The Art Monastery Project is an American non-profit arts organization whose vision is to cultivate personal awakening and cultural transformation through art, community, and contemplation. The Project’s pilot site is Art Monastery Italia, located in Labro (RI), 70 miles northeast of Rome. Art Monastery Italia is an intentional community of artists, applying monastic practices to art-making of all disciplines. Our income model is based on selling our high-quality performance-based work, both theatrical and musical. We have been successful since Protected content are looking for someone to help us move to the next level.
We are seeking a booking agent to sell our original theater spettacolo to festivals in Lazio and Umbria to be performed from mid-July through August Protected content . The Artmonks also perform classical and contemporary music in the shoulder seasons — everything from Gregorian Chant, Baroque, and Lieder to rock, jazz, and funk originals. There is the potential to sell these simpler music performances to weddings and other venues in September and beyond; but for now, the focus is on the theater show to summer festivals.
We will provide all publicity materials (video, sound, show descriptions, bios, images, website, printed packets, etc.) and the few contacts we have, but we are really looking for an energetic go-getter to help us break into this market, who understands AM Italia’s needs as well as Italian sensibilities. We are seeking a Booking Agent who will relentlessly pursue Italian mayors and festival managers with phone calls, in-person visits and meetings, follow-up emails, leading them to sign contracts, etc. This person has experience in this kind of representation, talent in sales, and a network of quality contacts. An energetic and reliable achiever, this person is self-motivated and charming, understands the Italian mindset and culture, and knows how to get things done in Italy!
The position begins in March Protected content a six-month contract and strong possibility for extension. Weekly in-person check-ins will can alternate between Labro and Rome (or wherever you are).
Standard booking agent fees vary between Protected content %. We offer the Art Monastery Booking Agent 25% commission fee for the first 8 shows sold (show priced at € Protected content after the first 8 shows are sold (minimum €1,800 to agent), the commission fee rises to 40%. This fee is outrageously high compared to normal booking agents, but we are willing to pay someone who can really get out there and sell this show!
