Living in Rotherham

Located in South Yorkshire, England, Rotherham is a large town which is very near to Sheffield and is sometimes known by its nickname as the ‘Homestead on the river Rothe’. Rotherham’s history can be dated back to the Middle Ages, and it became an important town during the Industrial Revolution as a result of its iron and steel production. There are a number of attractions for expats living in Rotherham to enjoy including the Rotherham Minster and the Magna Science Adventure Centre. The town’s other historical sites include the Chapel of Our Lady of Rotherham Bridge which dates back to the 15th Century and the Clifton Park Museum. Rotherham also offers a number of parks and outdoor spaces as well as entertainment venues and is home to the Rotherham United Football Club, whilst rugby union is also a popular sport in the town.
