Mid career change... What's the obstacles? (Singapore)

Hi all, I'm contemplating a mid career change, specifically from a technical/ engineering role to hospitality/ entertainment industry.
I'm wondering what's the difficulty adjusting a mid career change especially when it's a completely new arena.
Any advise or experience to share is greatly appreciated.
