Americans in Tokyo-starting a business

Hi!

Can anyone help me, I am interested in starting a business or being self employed in Tokyo. I work as a consultant in autism (essentially in special education) and am interested in finding out the process of either setting up a small business (with one employee, me!), or registering as self employed/independent contractor.

Any help would be really appreciated!
