InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Wellington

Hello to all Americans in Wellington! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Wellington? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Wellington which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: Wellington offers the best of both worlds: the amenities of a major population center combined with beautiful natural surroundings. The capital city is a comparatively small city known for being New Zealand’s political and cultural center with multiple museums, a vibrant arts, film, and theater scene, and much more! With the public transportation network consisting of ferries, buses, commuter trains, and even a funicular, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in Johnsonville or Lower Hutt, for example, which are only a 20 to 30-minute train ride away from Wellington’s center.

Although Wellington has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Wellington, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
