InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Auckland

Hello to all Americans in Auckland! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Auckland? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Auckland which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: Auckland may not be New Zealand’s capital — as is often wrongfully assumed — but it is certainly its most populous city. The “City of Sails” is a vibrant city known for being the first port of call for nearly everyone arriving in New Zealand, but it also has the country’s largest university and a striking geography, offering numerous parks, beaches, islands, volcano hills, and much more! With the local buses and the well-developed — though at peak times often congested — road network, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in the suburbs such as North Shore or Manukau City, which are short drive away from Auckland’s center.

Although Auckland has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Auckland, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
