Aywaille and the Amblève river
There are romantic valleys to discover in the Ardennes. The Amblève and NInglinspo river valleys are among them.
This time we will explore the territories of those rivers with start and end in Aywaille. Beautiful environment
Good hiking shoes are necessary as the ground is sometimes quite uneven with uphill and downhill sections. And, as usual, bring drinks, sandwiches and snacks with you.
In any case, we will complete around 25/26 km at a average speed of 5 km/h (depending on the sections).
Train IC Protected content Liège): Midi 8.56 am, Central 9.01, Nord 9.07. Change at Liège-Guillemins to train IC Protected content Aywaille at 10.07 am.
I will get on the train at Central. Weekend ticket and 10-trip cards are advisable.
Temperatures between 17 and 23° with a slight risk of rain after 2 pm.
Trains back to Brussels: at 5.23 and 7.23 pm from Aywaille with change at Liège. I think that the second option is ok as we arrive in Brussels at 9 pm.
A drink (e.g. a typical Belgian beer) is also advisable at the end of the hike in Aywaille.
