This is a 16.3km hike, with steep climb at the end so requires good fitness.

That said its a unique hike which crosses the Belgium - German border and takes us through the natural park of Hautes-Fagnes-Eifel with the Perlenbach valley filled with wild narcissi (daffodils). Bieley Rock offers beautiful views over the valleys below. The Rock is only accessible from the German side as it is located in Red Zone of the military camp of Elsenborn. I have checked accessibility for the day and it shows green (no military exercises forseen).

We will start in the village ofProtected content which is 155km from Brussels approx 2hr drive. (start and end times indicated do not factor in travel time)

Bring water, something for lunch and wear good hiking boots/shoes. If you have sticks, I recommend you bring them for when we take the path up the rock. There is an alternative path which is less steep. You can go around the Bieley Rock: the northern access is smoother than the southern access (where the path is very steep) I will take the steep path but the northern path is an alternative if others wish.
