"The university of California conducted a study that showed that mindfulness breathing increases the capacity to remain alert and present in the moment.
We return to the centre of all mindfulness practices. The breath and the awareness of the breath. The body breathes whether we are aware of it or not. From the moment we are born, our breath is the open secret that can tell us what mood or state of mind we are in – if only we were clued in to this part of our life. it connects us to all living things for we all breathe – insects, mammals, trees and all sentient beings. Although it might feel stressful to focus on the breath initially, once we overcome the hurdle of the breath, it can be used to calm and steady our thought process. The breath can be used to tap into our potential and help us work better, study better and heal."
