Forgiveness doesn’t mean that we condone the hurtful actions of another person. Taking a stand to ensure that the hurt does not continue, is also a part of forgiveness. Although forgiveness may be viewed as a weakness, its actually an opportune moment to free ones self. We can be freed from the anger, hatred, hurt & fear that echoes throughout our essence. We move from operating from the primitive or reptilian brain of hatefulness to tapping into the expansiveness of the heart & the wisdoms that go with it. The wisdoms that allow us to heal, center our self & finally regain a connection with the world at large. When we forgive someone – we are able to let go – we do it for ourself – not for the other person.
Forgiveness meditations can be quite challenging especially if we have been deeply hurt by someone. It may take time & patience to completely forgive & heal. Its important to view the act of forgiving as a gift that you give to yourself. With forgiveness, you can free yourself from resentment & open your heart to receive love & joy.
