A Winter's Day Hike down the Beautiful Neander Valley

Hi Explorers,
It is time again to get some fresh air and get out into the nature. Our hike on Sunday will take us from Haan-Gruiten through the picturesque village of Gruitendorf and down the Neander Valley to the Neandertal Museum. This is the area where remains of the famous “Neander Man” were found and is a beautiful walk following the stream through forest and along meadows.
It is an easy hike, approx. 10km in length and walking will be a medium pace. The weather forecast for Sunday is COLD! So please wear warm and appropriate clothing (boots, gloves, woolly hat, winter jacket, etc.). Also bring a hot drink and some snacks. Luckily so far, no rain is forecast but check again the weather forecast on Sunday.
If hikers wish, it is possible to stop at the end of the hike for a drink in a restaurant near the Museum (optional).
We will travel from Düsseldorf by S-Bahn to Haan-Gruiten Station and then return by S-Bahn from Neanderthal S-Bahn Station.
Please sign up only if you will definitely attend as there are limited places and members on a waiting list. In case of an urgent cancellation, please don't do this last minute as members on the waiting list would like to have the chance to join.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you are on the platform at least 10 minutes before the meeting time (so we can organize S-Bahn tickets). The S-Bahn waits for no latecomers.
See you Sunday!
