Opera in Espresso Format
Hi everybody. Here is the official information from the organiser:
On Friday 7 August at 6.30 pm, the charity ‘Music to go’ will present Carl Maria von Weber’s *Der Freischütz* on Düsseldorf’s Marktplatz in front of the Town Hall.
Instead of an orchestra, a string quartet will accompany the four opera singers as they bring the story to life in an abridged version by Grigoriy Losenkov.
The evening will be hosted by the organiser, Désirée Brodka, who will explain the plot and provide background information.
The concept is aimed at a wide audience – from opera connoisseurs to newcomers.
The event will take place in the open air; in the event of bad weather, the ensemble will move to an alternative venue.
The ‘Espresso-style opera’ lasts around 90 minutes and is free of charge. Donations are welcome.
