As soon as Korhan Futacı’s lips meet the mouthpiece of the saxophone, the ritual begins. Known for his skill as a saxophonist, composer, producer, singer, and songwriter, he has become a prominent figure on Turkey’s alternative music scene. With his new, all-Turkish quartet, he takes us through the chaos of Istanbul into an unexplored world—a place full of life but also darkness, where traditional Turkish music and freely improvised music are gently woven together with the essence of Anatolia.
Korhan Futacı, born in Protected content , is an Istanbul-based artist. Together with his musicians, he takes audiences beyond time and space through a deeply atmospheric and ritualistic experience.
Korhan Futacı has performed at major festivals including Roskilde, Jazzfest Saalfelden, and A’larme Festival, and collaborated with acclaimed avant-garde musicians such as Peter Brötzmann, Marshall Allen, Thurston Moore, Ken Vandermark, and William Parker.
