Free Early Morning Dip in A Museum, Ahead of the Crowds

Join me for a trip to the Humboldt Forum in Berliner Schloss. Access to the permanent collection is free. I would like to focus on a smaller exhibition called "Histories of Tanzania". Apart from my interest in this region, I would like try out an experiment: How does my perception shift when I view a part of the world in/through a museum? First, I will just take a look at the objects without reading ANY of the information stuck on the walls or posted next to the objects. No audio guide, no guided tour. I´ll collect my own impressions. Then, I´ll walk through the exhibition again and try to read ALL the information available in the two rooms. In the era of larger crowds, shorter attention spans and too much information, how does this access to information change my perception of what I have just seen? Do I feel well informed, emotionally involved, overinformed, overwhelmed - or simply bored? What am I going to remember in 30 mins or an hour after leaving?
Of course, you are most welcome to visit the exhibition the way you want to, and if you would like a guided tour, you can book a guided tour in English for next Sunday.
If you like, you can stroll down Französische Str. with me and take a look at the recently re-opened and hugely controversial Gendarmenmarkt square.
If we are lucky, we can have one of the Season´s first open air coffees and enjoy it in the sun. Our meeting point:
