New Date Guided Tour and Meetup : Style, Made in Germany
On Saturday at 10:30 am to beat the heat and the crowds, we meet for a special visit to **ICONIC**, the extended exhibition at the DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum. It may be closed down soon.
Join me on a journey through cars, design, politics and popular culture, woven into the story of a divided and later reunited Germany. The exhibition moves from Angela Merkel’s favourite pop song to David Bowie and Kraftwerk, from utopian prototypes to dysfunctional dreams, from style icons to the everyday objects that shaped East and West.
And of course there will be cars, some of them rare.
The exhibition indirectly raises the question: *Are automobiles part of Germany’s past, present or future?*
ICONIC is carefully curated, entirely original, and now in its final extension. It is not a classic car show but a cultural time capsule that reflects how mobility and identity have evolved over decades.
All written descriptions of the exhibits are also in English.
We have nine tickets for the free one-hour guided tour in German, the exhibition is also free. I can help translate if required. After the tour, we can stay for coffee or a small snack at the Forum’s café Ciao Ragazzi (Please pay for what you consume) and continue the conversation.
If you cannot attend, please cancel by 09:30 so I can return the unused tickets at the reception desk. The exhibition is ending soon and truly worth experiencing!
