■About Art Conference
Japanese Ukiyoe woodblock paintings from the Edo period and contemporary pop culture have become fairly accessible across the world, but one of the most exquisite era, the 16th century Muromachi period and the traditional samurai culture is still yet to be discovered in today’s international art scene. This warrior culture had an immense influence on Japanese art and it is its foundation. Abu Dhabi is one of the most fast developing international art and culture scene today. It is an ideal location to transmit the heritage of medieval Japanese art from a contemporary perspective, and to interact with a global audience to discover how traditional art is incorporated into modern society.
