The Secret Dinner in Paris
A Silent Dinner themed “Tempus Fugit”
About ten days ago, Rosalia lit up Paris with her Lux Tour. The Catalan icon carried thousands of Parisians away from the frenzy of the city into a world somewhere between here and above. For her, spirituality is a way to escape: “The rhythm of everything is so fast, so frenetic.” Rosalia has now left, but I’ve found the perfect dinner for us to escape. Spoiler: I’m sure she would have loved it.
On April 14 at 8:00 PM, this historic monument hosts, beneath its mysterious vaulted ceilings, a silent dinner. The evening’s purpose? To step away from the noise and reconnect with oneself:
7:30 PM. We arrive in the grand nave, lit only by dozens of candles. The atmosphere invites introspection.
8:00 PM. The first notes of music set the tone, followed by the reading of a spiritual text, and the starter is served. In the soothing silence, our senses finally have the space they deserve: hearing the crackle of bread, feeling the crunch of the salad, (re)discovering the flavors of the wine. The dinner alternates between rediscovered tastes, suspended reflections, spiritual and secular readings, and music to carry us away.
10:00 PM. We still haven’t spoken a single word. But one thing is certain: inside, a lot has happened.
