AMAZÔNIA Exhibition
Join fellow members of our Language Exchange group for an unforgettable late-night visit to the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum, where we’ll immerse ourselves in AMAZÔNIA - an awe-inspiring exhibition by the world-renowned photographer Sebastião Salgado.
The exhibition was conceived and curated by Lélia Wanick-Salgado. Trained as an architect and urban planner, she was for decades the artistic partner and wife of the recently deceased Brazilian photographer.
This powerful showcase focuses on the Amazon rainforest and the Indigenous peoples who live there, highlighting breathtaking landscapes alongside intimate portraits. Through Salgado’s lens and interviews with local leaders, shamans, and activists, visitors gain a deeper understanding of both the natural beauty and the urgent challenges facing this vital ecosystem.
On the first Thursday of each month, Cologne celebrate KölnTag: museums stay open late and residents can enjoy free admission. Bring your ID (stating your residence address) with you!
See you soon!
