MPB Night – Live Roda & Brazilian Vibes

An MPB roda is a relaxed Brazilian musical gathering where musicians come together to play and sing songs from the rich repertoire of Música Popular Brasileira.

MPB brings together many different styles and influences, including bossa nova, samba, baião and tropicalismo, with a mix of beautiful melodies, rhythms and poetic lyrics.

The musicians usually sit in a circle - hence the name roda - and play instruments such as guitar, cavaquinho, keyboard and percussion. Singers join in, often with the others singing along. It's informal, spontaneous and, most importantly, about sharing the music.

You don't need to be a musician or know Brazilian music to take part. Sing along, dance, have a drink, or simply enjoy the music and the atmosphere.

For me, a roda is also about bringing people together. It's a chance to discover Brazilian culture, meet new people, share stories and enjoy an evening of music in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
