Rebuilding Your Identity in a New Country
Understand how living abroad transforms your identity ,learn how to stay connected to who you are while embracing change.
Moving to a new country doesn’t just change your surroundings, it changes you. New routines, new expectations, new cultural norms they all shape how you see yourself. Many internationals feel this shift deeply: the sense of losing parts of who they were, while not yet feeling fully grounded in who they are becoming.
This workshop is a gentle, insightful space to explore that transformation. Together, we’ll look at how identity evolves during life abroad, why this process can feel overwhelming & how you can rebuild a strong, authentic sense of self in your new environment. You’ll reflect on the values, and inner strengths that define you and learn how to carry them confidently into this new chapter.
From Colombia & 14 years in the Netherlands, Marcela Ortiz blends her engineering and consultancy background with a deeply personal transformation journey. She rebuilt her identity abroad, questioning who she was, redefining what she wanted, and using personal development tools to become a stronger, truer version of herself.
That journey awakened her mission: supporting other internationals facing the same identity shifts. She leads an International Women’s Circle in the south of the Netherlands and has created her own program to help others conquer their lives and own their story on their terms.
