Cultural Awareness In Business Presentations

Culture is like air. It is everywhere, but sometimes we forget it exists. Especially in the business world. It quietly and relentlessly exerts its influences, often without us realizing it.
Nowadays, our working and business environments are becoming increasingly international, and presenting to a multi-cultural audience has become increasingly common.
The challenge of presenting to an audience from a different or diverse cultural background(s) is in two folds:
Understanding how your own culture is being perceived by the audience. Just like it is difficult for us to know how others see us, it is difficult for us to know how our culture impacts others.
In this workshop, we will discuss the core values, listening habits, information gathering/receiving, and decision-making patterns of a few selected cultures, for example, American, German, Chinese, Canadian, and Italian.
This workshop is intended to provide general guidelines and background knowledge to help design and deliver business presentations.
