Stolen Childhoods: A Global Stand Against Child Marriage
A child is never a bride. A child is never a groom.
Every day, children around the world lose their childhood to marriage. While the crisis is especially severe in countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Yemen, Niger, Chad, South Sudan, Mali, and parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, child marriage is not limited to developing countries. Even in the United States, some states still permit marriage below the age of 18 under specific legal exceptions.
This campaign is about one message: every child deserves a childhood.
We are not here to blame any religion, culture, nationality, or community. Child marriage has existed across different societies, faiths, and legal systems. It should never be justified—whether by tradition, poverty, conflict, custom, or law.
This event is a global call to raise awareness, speak up for children, and show solidarity with those whose voices are too often unheard.
Silence protects the practice. Awareness helps end it.
