“Interbeing” at Social Café: Engaging Talks on Trending Topics
Greetings Friends,
This is my first event in Protected content Please remember it’s a camera-on event, so please note that cameras must remain ON all the time.
The quote for this event is: “Neurodiversity is not about changing people; it's about changing the environment to fit the person.” - Nick Walker
These are some questions for you to think about before the event so that we have meaningful discussions:
Is the world we live in today designed to fit in neurodivergent people as well? Are neurodivergent people supported to reach their potential based on who they are or forced to change in order to fit in? If neurodiversity is as vital as biodiversity, what might humanity lose when certain minds are silenced? When we encounter someone who thinks, communicates or reacts differently, do we instinctively try to “fix” them or to understand them? What assumptions do we make about what is “normal”, “functional” or “successful”? What would it mean to truly celebrate difference, rather than merely tolerate it?
This event is meant to encourage active participation. If you're shy or simply prefer not to share, you may find other events on this page that are more suited to your preferences:
DISCLAIMER: This is not a therapy session or consultation. We aim to foster meaningful conversations. If you feel you need professional help, we kindly encourage you to seek assistance from a qualified professional in your area.
