Balkan’s Expression & macLYON present: “The Social Power of Celebration”
(as part of the exhibition Personal Stories / Political Realities — Collections from macLYON & MoCAB Belgrade, on view from September 19, Protected content , to January 4, Protected content
On this special occasion, the association launches the Balkan Cultural Center, transforming the MAC ROOM into a vibrant space of music, encounters, and collective creation. Expect DJs, live art, and immersive performances — all celebrating the social and political role of music and festivity.
Program Highlights:
Immersive performance by Morgane Baffier & Talita Otović, blending body, voice, and ritual.
Inauguration of the Balkan Cultural Center: the MAC ROOM becomes a living space for meetings, creation, and celebration.
DJ Capitaine Marko (Belgrade) – festive DJ set.
Collective mural by artist Jelena Stamenković, a 10-meter-long fresco created with visitors and later exhibited in the museum hall.
Conversation between DJ Stevie Whisper (Belgrade) and Léo Duca (Lyon) about club culture, past and present, and the role of parties as social, cultural, and political spaces.
Finale: an XXL DJ set at macBAR, turning the museum into an ephemeral dance floor!
Come celebrate diversity, creativity, and the spirit of togetherness with artists from Lyon and Belgrade.
