Louisiana Jazz Festival

Let's enjoy some great jazz music together in the beautiful setting of the Porto Antico.

“Elektro Dixie” oscillates between the past and the future. A rhythmic groove that embraces the history of jazz, drawing inspiration from the great drummers of the past (Baby Dodds, Zutty Singleton, Cozy Cole, Gene Krupa) and the great pianists (Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, Art Tatum, Fats Waller), whilst keeping pace with the present through the use of keyboards, electronics and electric bass. The result is a generational crossover that brings together musicians from different backgrounds and styles, creating music to listen to – and perhaps to dance to – which recaptures the dynamic, popular roots of early jazz and grafts them onto a contemporary language.

The project is an Original Production by Insulae Lab – Music Production Centre, Louisiana Jazz Club and Nadir Music.
