Exploring Dolo (Last Carnival of the Year)
Let's wrap up the Carnival season by having an afternoon trip to Dolo, a charming Venetian town famous for its historic 16th-century watermills over the Brenta canals and a prominent bell tower, that resembles St Mark and is supposedly the second tallest bell tower in the Veneto region.
The town is said to host a very colorful Carnival parade, known as "Carnevale dei Storti"; this year the event is free of charge, thanks to the efforts of the local touristic organisation.
Let's then catch the 13:50 bus from Venezia Mestre and discover the wonders of Dolo!
