This is an opportunity to experience the Charles Kuonen suspension bridge, the longest hanging bridge for pedestrian use in the world, as well as to enjoy the fabulous scenery around Zermatt. This is a hike for confident and energetic hikers, as the route is 23 kms in length and includes Protected content of elevation gain, and we should complete the route in around nine hours including stops.

We meet at Protected content

Please remember to take a packed lunch, sunscreen, protection for your head, two litres of water, a warm top for the higher elevations and preferably a set of hiking poles. For those not taking the train, I encourage you to car pool, and suggest that offers and requests for car pooling be posted on the InterNations board. Each driver is free to decide on the contribution of each passenger, but in the absence of any particular policy on the part of the driver, I suggest each passenger contributes based on 8 centimes per km, as well as parking costs.
