Chiemsee Adventure: Ship, Castle, Art Exposition, Walking Tour

Let's spend together an interesting and varied day at Herrenchiemsee!

We'll meet at Munich HBF track 9 (Holzkirchner Flügelbahnhof) at 9:30am and take the train departing 9:55am to Prien.

There we'll continue to Prien/Stock Hafen (walking distance 1,7 km, but we can take the historical steam train at 10:15am, it's more fun), where the ship to Herrenchiemsee departs at 11:30am.
Train: D-ticket or MVV day ticket (Prien is on zone 7)

Once there we have the following options:
- walk around the island (approx. 2h)
OR
- have a lunch break or coffee at the restaurant "Schlosswirtschaft". Costs based on your own consumption (closes at 4:30pm)

Then visit one or several of the following spots:
- New castle (with guided tour only)
- Exposition "Art and Democracy" (with full ticket+ only)
- King Louis II museum
- Augustiner-Chorherrenstift (with numerous masterpieces by artists working at Chiemsee and a separate Julius-Exter-exposition)

We'll take the ship back at 6:15 pm, steam train at 6:50 pm and train at 7:06 pm, arriving Munich HBF at 8:06 pm.

I recommend to bring picnic for the train, as lunch may be late and in the evening there won't be time for another stop.
