Night of the Museums
Dear art lovers,
On 5. May, around 40 museums and cultural institutions are opening their doors for a night full of artistic and cultural insights. The extensive program of this night includes guided tours, live performances, concerts, parties and some decent food all-round the night.
We will meet in front of Protected content
-Our first stop will be the recently renovated Historisches Museum which includes cultural and historical objects related to the history of Frankfurt and Germany. We will attend the sight-reading (voices of actors reading what the audience bring them) and enjoy some indie rock meets jazz music.
-Second stop will be Goethe Haus und Museum, where we will attend a guided tour and attend some Afghani Iranian German special musical performance.
-Third stop will be reached by bus and will be the Ikonen-Museum, we will attend a short guided tour and enjoy some piano performance by Boris Levantovitch and organ performance by Christoph Gans.
-Later we will continue to Museum Angewandte Kunst, we will see the work of Jil Sander, one of the most influential fashion designers of her generation.
-Our next stop will be the Deutsches Filmmuseum, we will see the special insights into the world of films on the first two floors. On the third floor we will have a guided tour to see how Stanley Kubrick vision of the future emerged in the cinema, especially in the movie “2001: A Space Odyssey”. Later we will take some bluebox instant photos and enjoy some electro music performance.
-Last stop will be the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung where the collection of the South African artist William Kentridge is being moved. You might be lucky to be to be selected to be able to rediscover the garden of the house with some flashlight. And finally enjoy some African street food in the Liebieghaus garden.
To eliminate waiting time on entrances, its recommended to avoid bringing big bags and backpacks to the event.
Please buy your own ticked before the event takes place, so that we can take the tram at the beginning. Tickets are available online or at local ticket agencies and cost 14 € per person with special reduced price of 9 €.
