Theatre Festival: The Name of the Rose [open air]

When a string of strange murders happens at a monastery that is to host an important religious debate, an Italian abbey, Brother William of Baskerville is called to unravel the mystery. It’s an entertaining story and a 14th century thriller, where every death exposes a new piece of an age-old conspiracy. Dangerous knowledge and the future of the Catholic Church hang in the balance.
The Name of the Rose, the most known novel of Umberto Eco, combines semiotics with biblical analysis, medieval studies and literary theory and contains direct or indirect metatextual references to other sources which require a detective work also from the audience.
The theatre piece is presented open air in Grüneburgpark by the Dramatische Bühne, an off-off-theater with about Protected content annually, permanent ensemble and very popular among bankers and punks and at every age.
Let’s meet and follow together along as William of Baskerville races against the time to crack the case!
