Join me for into the woods adventure!

Step away from the city and join me for a refreshing fitness walk through the beautiful woodlands and coastal landscape of Sagamore Hill National Historic Site!

After gathering near the Old Orchard Museum/Visitor Center, we will begin an approximately 1.4-mile loop through an oak-and-tulip forest leading toward a peaceful salt marsh and beach. Along the way, we may spot songbirds, herons, egrets, osprey, bald eagles, ducks, fiddler crabs and white-tailed deer—depending on the season and how quietly our enthusiastic group can walk!

The trail includes approximately Protected content of elevation gain, with several steep uphill and downhill sections. The estimated walking time is 45–60 minutes, but we will allow approximately 60–75 minutes for a comfortable group pace, photographs, wildlife observation and regrouping.

This outing offers the perfect combination of fitness, nature, history and conversation—along with a beautiful reminder of why Theodore Roosevelt loved the outdoors.

We will return to the Old Orchard Museum location via a different trail.

❗One important point: access to the beach can occasionally be flooded around high tide, particularly near new/full moons, and there is no alternate route when that happens.
