Caroline Wahl Lesung: Die Assistentin (in German Language)

A career as a musician - that was actually Charlotte's biggest wish. But now it's too late anyway, and she has to take care of a proper job, especially because of her parents. She finds a position in a publishing house, which isn't bad either, and Munich is a beautiful city, especially in summer. In the publisher's office, Charlotte sits very close to the center of power. She quickly realizes that he often changes his assistants. But she develops a good relationship with her boss, who recognizes her strengths and trusts her. And for that, she has to put up with a lot, perhaps even fight hard battles, maybe put her health at risk. Perhaps even lose Bo, whom she has just fallen in love with... Caroline Wahl's new novel tells, in a wonderfully laconic tone, with humor and depth, the story of a young woman who doesn’t want to be made into a victim and yet finds herself in a situation that many people know: when a job becomes hell.
A very everyday tale of suffering, a novel about resilience and survival.
