A concert broadcasted by the Athens Concert Hall on the 1st December Protected content . The early music ensemble La Stravaganza Greca, well loved by the Greek audience, plays ostinati, canzoni, sonate and follias from Baroque Italy.
Compositions of the Italian organic repertoire from the early 17th to the mid-18th century, highlighting the skillful and expressive style of early Italian music, with an emphasis on the bright, free, often improvisational character of the Baroque. The band, which has formed a special sound combining the violin with the rare four-stringed cello piccolo, consists of four soloists specialized in old music, Simos Papanas (baroque violin), Dimos Gountaroulis (four-stringed cello piccolo), Aggelos Liakakis (baroque cello), Theodoros Kitsos (theorvi, baroque guitar) and Markellos Chrysikopoulos (harpsichord).
On this special night, the members of the ensemble La Stravaganza Greca will present pieces by great Italian Baroque composers and virtuosos, such as Andrea Falconieri, Giovanni Picchi, Tarquinio Merula, Dario Castello, Marco Uccellini and later Arci, Giuseppe Valentini, Giuseppe Tartini and of course Antonio Vivaldi.
