Immerse yourself in the sound world of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina! His "Missa Fratres ego enim accepi" is one of the many works that were only published posthumously, and is based on his motet of the same name with the statement words of the Eucharist from the first Corinthian letter (1 Cor 11:23). Palestrina uses the parody technique by taking over thematic material of the motets, varying it and integrating it into the five sets of measurements. His contrapuntal mastery is evident in the clarity of the polyphonic texture, the harmonious balance and the spiritual expressiveness of the music. The combination of vocal music and historical instruments leads to an authentic sound journey into the Renaissance. The tonal beauty of the cathedral music comes alive - an experience full of depth and sublimity at the opening of the Festival for Early Music as part of the Residenzwoche.
