Trip to Mainz, under the spell of the Rhine & Viennese waltzes

Anyone up for starting the new year with a 3-day trip to Mainz?
There's more than just the Dom, Stephanskirche and the Gutenberg Museum awaiting us: the capital city of Rheinland-Pfalz will celebrate the new year by throwing an exuberant concert in Viennese style, with plenty of waltzes and the flying fingers of pianist Claire Huangci. And to add more magic to the journey, we'll try to delve into the Nibelungen saga by having a day trip to Bacharach, the home town of the legendary Loreley.
The plan so far:
- head to Mainz on January 2nd and have a sightseeing tour of its historical center
- in the morning of january 3rd, take a train to the fortified town of Bacharach and have the 2 hour hike described at

- on Jan 3rd evening we'll head to the Rheingoldhalle to finish our journey under the notes of Strauss, Brahms and Rachmaninov
