Art & Chats With Barbara Yelin, Exploring Word to Image :o)
Join me for the Opening of the Exhibition "Word to Image"-Barbara Yelin.
Word to Image, an exhibition exploring the multifaceted relationship between words and images through the work of artist and author Barbara Yelin. Moving between drawing, storytelling and visual narrative, Yelin’s work brings personal histories, memories and contemporary experiences to life, revealing the expressive possibilities of the drawn image.
Opening remarks and conversation with:
Baschi Dürr, Director of the Christoph Merian Foundation, Basel
Barbara Yelin, Artist and Author, Munich
Anette Gehrig, Director and Curator of Cartoonmuseum Basel
Music: Sina Fani Sani, Composer (Isfahan/Hamburg)
Performance
Palimpsest II: Blue Dissolves into the Forest
Barbara Yelin’s live drawings unfold on screen, intertwining with Sina Fani Sani’s (DE/IR) electroacoustic sounds. Together, image and sound create a layered, immersive narrative in which visual gestures and sonic textures continuously emerge, overlap and transform.
I look forward to welcoming you for an evening of art, conversation and live performance.
Your host,
Nthabi ;o)
