Free French-Led Walking Tour
Join us for a discovery of Brutalist architecture in Toronto, an architectural style that is very present across the city but often misunderstood or underappreciated.
Please note: this event and guided tour will be conducted in French.
The visit will begin with a presentation at the Alliance Française, introducing the history of Brutalism and highlighting representative buildings in Toronto and around the world.
We’ll then walk along Bloor Street West to see real examples of Brutalist architecture, learn more about their design and history, and have the opportunity to ask questions along the way.
Important: The guided tour is organized by the Toronto Historical Society.
If you arrive after the tour starts, we may not be able to assist with finding the group. Please arrive on time.
Please note that dogs are not allowed.
Departure: Alliance Française, 24 Spadina Road (Spadina Station)
Arrival: Toronto Reference Library, Protected content Street
