A classic event: hiking for Carnival in Bellinzona
Update: given the fine weather forecast, let's start the day by hiking to Claro Monastery, since we haven't been there for 7 years already. Protected content
The idea then is to catch the 8:10 am train from Milano Centrale to Castione Arbedo (train is the one headed to Erstfeld)
Depending on whether you wish to hike or not, we can have 4 possible meeting points:Protected content
If you come from Italy, remember to bring an ID (I highly doubt that they'll check documents at the borders, but you never know)
If you have it, bring a mask!
What happens when one of the wackiest and more colorful Carnivals out there meets the most enchanting town in Switzerland? By now, you should probably all know, since Bellinzona is the most frequently sought destination in this group and, with Protected content every year, by far the most popular event!
After 12 years of Rabadan hikes and parties, let's have a 13th expedition to Bellinzona, capital town of Canton Ticino, where the music and chaos of more than 50 Carnival chariots will collide with the majesty and elegance of the fortified town.
As usual, the idea is to have a warm-up hike in the morning, before attending the parade in the afternoon and finishing the day with dinner at the Cat Cellar.
We'll decide which hike to try one week before, when it's clearer if we'll have sunshine, rain or snow.
