The taler may be a currency no longer in use, but you might get the impression that it still exists this week, given the wealth of historical representations taking place around Swabia. And, above all, given the latest insane public transportation deal by Bahn.

For the uninitiated, it will be possible to travel throughout the summer across Germany for...9 euro a month. And that includes regional trains, suburban trains, buses and even trams and metros! Would you believe it?

If you want to see the offer with your own eyes, let's embark on a long journey to Ulm.
After following the deeds of Berblinger (one of first pioneers who tried to make flying possible) last summer, we'll see if we can explore the bell tower (it's open again) and the abbey/library.

However, our main quest will be outside Ulm. With medieval/historical representations taking place in Wangen im Allgäu, Schwäbisch Hall and Rothenburg ob der Tauber, it would be nice to check at least one of these. The main event will be in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, as the town hosts the "Meistertrunk" representation, to celebrate a legendary mayor who once saved the city from being razed to the ground by drinking 3 litres of wine in one gulp.

More details to come!
