Hike Reeuwijk to Haastrecht - Pelgrimage Track Stage 05
16.8 km
The walk begins at the Reeuwijkse Plassen, thirteen lakes east of the village of Reeuwijk, created in the 18th century by peat extraction, except for the first lake on our left, which was created in the Protected content as a sand extraction pit for the construction of roads and residential areas.
We walk along narrow paths that separate the rectangular lakes. Nowadays, the lakes are used for recreation and for hunting waterfowl; hunters' hides can be found on many islands and banks.
After leaving the lakes, we walk along the De Enkele Wiericke canal to the 8-meter-high open viewing platform, the Wierickewachter, from which you have a panoramic view of typical Dutch landscapes.
In the village of Driebruggen, we have lunch atProtected content
