A Guided Tour of Rubenshuis in Antwerp

Dear friends
We propose you a virtual tour at the Rubenshuis located in Antwerp, Belgium, where Peter Paul Rubens lived.
Peter Paul Rubens is considered one of the most influential artist of the Flemish Baroque tradition and one of the most famous residents of Antwerp. In the year Protected content made a trip to Italy and stayed there for eight years. Thanks to Rubens, the first bases of Baroque painting, grandiose and magniloquent, find space also in Italy.
In Protected content returned to Antwerp as the official court painter of the Low Countries and bought a house in Antwerp for which he drew the renovation plans to transform it into a Renaissance “palazzo”. Ruben’s studio at his new house, became a centre of activity and study of many painters, van Dyck and from there hundreds of paintings were produced.
Ben Van Beneden, the Director of Rubenshuis accompanies us in this virtual tour and shows us the place where the painter lived and worked
