Film Evening
Miséricorde is a dark thriller-comedy about loneliness and desire, forests and mushrooms, life and death, partly based on Alain Guiraudie's own novel Rabalaïre. The book is Protected content long, and Guiraudie has said that when he writes, he adds, while when he makes a film, he cuts. This time he has also removed the sexually explicit scenes that many associate his films with, such as Stranger by the Sea. Miséricorde is nevertheless a film that explores drives, above all repressed and hidden desires, which occasionally become visible and create chaos and confusion.
