Protected content Fellowship

Dates and Place:

20 June – 22 July, Geneva, Switzerland

Organizer:

Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

Project Details:

The Indigenous Fellowship Programme was launched in Protected content the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the context of the first International Decade of the World’s Indigenous People ( Protected content ). Since its creation, a total of Protected content representatives from all over the world have benefited from this programme.

The Fellowship is a comprehensive training programme, which aims to empower indigenous representatives and their communities by strengthening their knowledge of the United Nations human rights system and of protecting their human rights. The result is that the trained Fellows are more aware of existing UN instruments and, hence, better equipped to assist their organizations and communities.

In Protected content , the Indigenous Fellowship will take place from 20 June to 22 July, although interpretation will not be needed the week of 11 July. For this year’s programme we are looking for the following simultaneous interpreters:

* English to French (and vice versa)
* English to Spanish (and vice versa)
* English to Russian (and vice versa)

It is expected that interpreters will be needed for three to four hours per day, three to four days each week during the programme (please contact us for the specific dates). Interpreters will work in interpreter booths in pairs (two per booth), by language and we expect there to be a modest per diem available.

If you are interested in volunteering for this project, please submit your CV as soon as possible to Protected content and, if you haven’t already, please register here: Protected content .

If you have any questions you may call us at Protected content .
