Research Assistant in Refugee Law
The Centre for Comparative and Public Law (CCPL) ( Protected content ), established in Protected content , is an active research centre within the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong.
We are currently inviting applications for a full-time Research Assistant I/II position in refugee law from January Protected content as soon as possible thereafter, on an 18-month, fixed-term basis. The salary range offered for this position is between HK$16,575 and HK$22,090 depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Although applications to work full-time are prefered, we may also consider applications to work part-time.
The Research Assistant will work directly with CCPL Director, Associate Professor Kelley Loper, on research related to refugee protection in Asia for a project funded by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council’s General Research Fund. The study will examine the application of international human rights law to refugee protection in Asian states not party to the Refugee Convention.
Applicants should have:
•Excellent academic qualifications in law or a related field; preferably some background in human rights
•Excellent English writing skills
•Experience conducting academic research
•Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a small team.
