I loved moving to Brussels. But after a while I felt homesick. On InterNations I met a bunch of people from the US. That helped a lot.

Living in Liege

Liege is one of the largest cities in Belgium, and is one of the leading economic centers, particularly in the French speaking region of Wallonia, of which it is also the capital. The city is known as ‘the glowing city’ because of its friendly residents and overall warm feeling and is a fantastic place to live in. Expats living in Liege will find that the city is full of culture, with a number of important historical buildings and monuments including the palace of the Prince-Bishops of Liege, which was built in the 16th century, as well as the market square, known as ‘the Batte’ which is where most of the residents can be found on Sunday afternoons. Liege is famous for its many festivals, including arts, folk and music festivals as well as incredibly lively nightlife consisting of many pubs and bars which tend to have late openings.
