Our client is one of the leading insurance companies in Malta, providing competitively priced insurance products for both personal and commercial clients throughout the Maltese Islands.
The ICT Manager will be reporting to the General Manager. Duties include but are not limited to: developing an IT strategy in line with the overall company strategy; designing, implementing and maintaining information technology systems and procedures in support of the rest of the organization; identifying, recommending and implementing improvements to existing systems, procedures, control and workflows; writing and administering policies, standards and procedures designed to protect and control the security of the company’s data, programs and information technology systems; acting as an Information Technology consultant to all other departments; developing a business continuity, disaster recovery plan and back-up strategies whilst ensuring these are implemented and followed; managing a team of Information Technology professionals; ensuring that all staff within the department are trained to make maximum use of the information technology systems; dealing with suppliers of the company’s hardware and software regarding breakdowns and maintenance; appraising employees; assisting in the recruitment of ICT employees; advising on new technologies and information management best practices that could be applicable to the company’s environment; conducting audits of IT infrastructure, assets, processes and operations whilst interacting with management on matters relating to information requirements as well as on IT issues and requirements.
This position calls for a smart, proactive individual with excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. The right candidate should have experience in research and analytical skills whilst also having the ability to communicate with and understand the needs of stakeholders including internal clients. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours and be on-call most of the time. A Bachelor of Science Degree in computing is necessary for this role. Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English.
