With one click, administrators at schools, cities and companies can reach out to their constituents in a multi-channel fashion: sending mass messages via text, voice, emails, social media (Facebook, Twitter), loudspeaker/PA, digital signage, etc.
This marketing team member will need to call upon robust editorial skills for researching, drafting and editing online and print communications and campaigns for the company.
Reports to: Communications Director
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
Draft marketing emails, online landing pages, blog posts, social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+), website content, press releases, white papers, case studies and other public and internal documents, including brochures, leaflets, campaign reports, newsletters and articles;
Ensure quality, clarity and accuracy of content;
Manage content on blogs and website;
Assist with e-mail list-building efforts and with developing list-building strategies;
Other duties as assigned.
2-3 years experience in communications/public relations writing effective and persuasive online and print communications;
Previous professional campaign writing experience;
Familiarity with Associate Press Style Guide;
Experience with Emergency Notification Systems and Mass Messaging Systems a plus;
Commitment to editorial excellence;
Experience with technical aspects of e-mail and Web functionality;
Effective time management skills, including prioritizing and managing multiple tasks;
Demonstrated experience meeting tough deadlines and providing fast turn-around of quality communications and working in a high-pressure environment;
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and work well with internal and external staff at all levels;
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and able to adapt quickly to meet project needs;
Ability to work effectively in a team environment in a support role;
Request for proposal (RFP) experience a plus;
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Maintain archives of written and published materials;
Assist as necessary in other marketing team projects;
Attend necessary meetings;
Be responsive to troubleshooting requests as they occur;
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Must have Protected content of writing and editing experience. Hands-on knowledge of a range of industry standard software including Google Docs, OutMarket, WordPress and a knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must have a personal computer that can be used for work, have a broadband Internet connection, have experience working remotely and be able to work from home. Must be a collaborative and responsive team player and capable of handling multiple projects in a fast-paced marketing environment.
4-year college or advanced degree in Joukrnalism, Marketing, Communication or other relevant field.
