Application Support Engineer - IT Role

The most important criteria for joining our support team are:
1. Client-facing experience
2. Written and verbal skills; excellent phone manner
3. Firm grasp of how the web works, networking, and software products

Experience with HTML, PHP, Oracle, PL/SQL would be advantageous. Individuals with a track record of finding creative solutions to unique problems, and who will thrive in challenging situations will be highly regarded.

The Application Support Engineer is responsible for providing high-quality technical support for the deployments of our software program across Australia. This person will also work on other programming and documentation projects as required. For entry-level applicants we are willing to train the right candidate. Application Support Engineers deliver effective technical customer support to our rapidly growing customer base, delivering solutions to both technical and non-technical end users while also supporting a wide range of technologies. Support Engineers may be required to be on-call on a rotating basis throughout the year.

Additional responsibilities include:

1. Taking ownership of technical issues, and working with our Development group to resolve more advanced issues when necessary
2. Resolving and escalating customer issues without the need for team leader intervention
3. Documenting troubleshooting and problem resolution steps
4. Participation in providing training to customers as required

Some technical skills that would be advantageous:

1. Knowledge of Windows, XP, Vista and general desktop support issues
2. Knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP and other networking concepts
3. Oracle experience, PL/SQL, scripting and tuning
4. Experience with web site development, HTML, PHP
